About Me (Lori Stewart-Misner)
I live in Charleston Il. I am 30 years old and I am married. I have 2 children. A 14 year old step-daughter and a 10 year old son. I have always enjoyed family history and recently this has became a big hobby of mine. Some of my friends think I am crazy when I tell them how I spend my weekends. Trecking over the countryside in search of grave yards, grave sites, and spending hours in the local library looking for information. It is fun to think about where we came from. And though I am probably not decended from royalty, its fun to think I am.
The Ancestor List
My Great (x5) Grandfather and Grandmother: Robert Stewart born about 1749, died in 1845. He married Patience Stewart. They moved to eastern KY. after 1785. Robert had several acres of land (aprox. 200 or more) in Ky. located around Buck Creek and Big Barren River. When he died Patience sold the remainder of this acreage and moved to Hutton Township, Coles County, Illinois. Patience, aged almost 90 years old, road horseback from Ky with her grandson John Stewart (my great x3 grandfather). They brought with them, six dining room chairs, that were family heirlooms. Patience lived with her son William untill death at about 105 years old. She is buried at the Stewart Family Cemetery. (I will have pictures soon of the Stewart Family Cemetary)
My Great (x4) Grandfather and Grandmother: (Father of Hutton Twp. Stewarts) William H. Stewart born May 28, 1785 in Burnswick County, Va. married Dicy Haines born Dec. 31,1789. Her father John Haines fought in the American Revolution. William owned land in Kentucky but sold it on July 3, 1815 and moved to Hutton Township, Coles County, IL. William was a prominent man in young Coles County and one of the first settlers. He was a Justice of the Peace. William died on July 21, 1855. Dicy died Sept. 7, 1881. She and William are buried in the Stewart Family Cemetary. They had the following 12 Children.

My Great (x3) Grandfather and Grandmother: John H. Stewart born Jan. 29, 1825 died Feb. 3, 1913. The story goes that John proposed to a Boyer girl, and when she refused his offer of marriage he asked her sister, Tillie. Matilda Ann Boyer (Tillie) did accept. They married Feb 1, 1846. Tillie was born Feb. 16,1823 died Feb. 23, 1901. John and Tillie had the following 10 children

My Great Great Grandfather and Grandmother: Joseph Washington Stewart b: Dec. 23, 1852 d: May 2, 1927 was married 3 times in his life. He first married Loretta Garrison on Oct. 5, 1879. She was born March 16, 1857 she died July 7, 1909. Joseph and Loretta had 7 children.

My Grandfather and Grandmother: Harry Kelly Stewart b: July 15, 1914 d: October 31, 2002 married Audrey Geneva Frederick b: May 20, 1917 d: Sept. 22, 1980. They were married Dec. 22, 1934. Harry was a farmer, and road commissioner of Hutton Township for more than 20 years. Audrey was a homemaker. She was a very good cook and sewed. Audrey and Harry had 2 Children.

About the Family Roots
Most likely my ancestors come from Scottland or Ireland. When I get more info down I will include it. Right now this site is under construction.
